Domenico Antonio Mancini was born in Naples in 1980. He lives and works between Milan and Naples. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and through participation in various residences including the Antonio Ratti Foundation (Como, 2004) and the Mountain School of Art (Los Angeles, 2006). Interested in the transformation of daily life and historical memory into a synaesthetic experience, Domenico Antonio Mancini combines sophisticated media analysis, chosen from time to time, to reflect on socio-political and bio-political issues. For the artist, the practice of art always responds to the urgent need to intervene, individually and collectively, in everyday life. Solo and group exhibitions have been dedicated to the artist by important institutions as: Pinacoteca dell’Accademia di Belle Arti, Naples (2002); la Fabbrica del Vapore, Milan (2006); Museo Mineralogico Campano, Vico Equense, Naples (2007); Palazzo delle Arti, Naples (2008); Istituto Svizzero, Rome (2009); MADRE Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina, Naples (2009); Tate Modern, Londra (2010), Castel Sant’Elmo, Naples (2013); Barriera Association, Turin (2018).
